Glossary

What's what.

Every term used across the Owner, Center, and Admin panels, Vault, and the Agent client, defined in one place. Where a term has a full walkthrough elsewhere, there's a link to it.

People & accounts

Owner full guide →
The person who owns a center (or several). Signs up first, manages billing, licensing, and staff from the Owner panel. Signs in with an emailed code, no password.
Staff full guide →
A login an Owner creates for someone who works the floor. Signs in to the Center panel with an email and password.
Admin
LANBear's own platform staff, in a separate panel for managing releases and every owner's account. Not something a café ever sees or needs.
Customer
The person paying to play. Can have an optional account (wallet, tier, loyalty points), or just buy a walk-in ticket with none of that.
Technician
Whoever's physically setting up or fixing a PC. Any staff member can be one. What matters is knowing the technician PIN, below.

The floor

Center
One physical location. An Owner can run several under one account.
Device full guide →
One entry per physical PC or console on the floor, paired to the Agent app installed on it.
Device Group full guide →
A set of Devices that share an hourly rate, e.g. "Standard PCs" vs "VIP Booths."
Layout
A way to tag devices into a visual zone (VIP rooms, streaming booths) so Floor View can be filtered by area.
Time Package full guide →
What actually gets sold, e.g. "1 Hour." Priced separately per Device Group.
Floor View full guide →
The live grid of every device, where staff start, monitor, and end sessions.
Session
One customer's block of time on one device, start to end.
Suspended session
A session paused with time still on the clock, resumable later instead of forfeited.

Selling

POS Terminal full guide →
The register, at /pos. Time packages and F&B products share one cart here.
Ticket full guide →
A prepaid session code sold to a walk-in, no account required.
Reservation full guide →
A booking made through the public booking page, checked in at the counter.
Shift full guide →
A cash-drawer period: opened with a starting float, closed with a counted amount.
Wallet
A customer's prepaid balance.
Tier
A per-center loyalty level with its own discounts, e.g. Bronze/Silver/Gold.
Loyalty Points
A separate earn-and-redeem points system, independent of tiers.
Promotion
A coupon code or automatic discount applied at checkout.

The Agent (client)

Agent, or Client full guide →
The Windows app installed on every gaming PC. Locks the screen, launches games, and handles kiosk security.
Pairing code full guide →
A short code that links a freshly-installed Agent to a specific Device record.
Technician PIN full guide →
A 6-digit code, set center-wide in Center Settings, that gates the Agent's Technician Settings screen, and the panic key once it's configured.
Kiosk Mode full guide →
One of several security toggles: fullscreen, locked, can't be closed during a session.
Panic key full guide →
Ctrl+Shift+Alt+F12, the emergency escape hatch. Requires the technician PIN once a real one has been set.
Watchdog full guide →
A background process that relaunches the Agent if it gets killed.

Vault (the shared game library)

Vault full guide →
A shared game-library disk across every PC at a center, included on select plans.
Vault Server full guide →
The one PC that hosts the shared disk, assigned from the Center panel once its Agent is paired.
Vault Node full guide →
What every PC becomes by default once it's installed with Vault, mounting the shared disk without hosting it.
Update PC full guide →
The one Node allowed to keep its local changes after a reboot, so it can install or patch games.
Publish (seal) full guide →
The step that pushes the Update PC's changes out to the rest of the floor. Doesn't happen automatically.

Games & licenses

Game Catalog
A center's list of available games, with cover art pulled in from IGDB.
License Pool
A group of shared Steam or Epic accounts, assigned automatically as sessions start.
